Jicara Media, an exciting new company that publishes B2B technology titles and organises bespoke, targeted events in the enterprise sector, is looking for an editorial intern. The team behind Jicara has been responsible for launching and growing some of the region’s top B2B IT publications.
We’re looking for an intern who is able to write excellent, lucid prose that unpacks complex enterprise technology topics for a specialised audience. As the company grows, it may lead to a full time position.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Report on relevant news in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) B2B technology industry
- Write feature articles and interview important personalities in the technology space in APAC
- Maintain and grow a list of contacts that are relevant to the publication
- Help with the upload of content to the website, along with basic photo editing
- Attend events and press conferences and generate interesting articles based on them
- Update our publications’ social media accounts with latest stories
Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Exceptional English language skills with flawless grammar — consistent tenses, correct conjugation, variety of vocabulary
- A passion for and an interest in enterprise B2B technology such as cloud computing, networks, data centres, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things, etc
- The ability to write concise, clear, and engaging prose that tells stories while delving deep into technological innovation
- The ability to ask probing questions based on meticulous research
- Comfort with conversing with very senior corporate executives and technologists
- Comfort with using technology in the work environment, and social media experience
