Job Description

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Brand Designer Intern to join our team at Ioli Labs. Someone who loves to experiment in design, does not shy away from speaking up to share ideas and opinions, and is eager to craft a visual brand identity from scratch and to translate it into various applications across different medium. 

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your creative skills and help us develop a strong and cohesive visual brand identity for a new cybersecurity brand. As the creative lead, you will be an integral part of the branding process from start to finish, and you will design all aspects of the new brand identity and its key applications. 

This internship is not just about great execution – you will come up with the big ideas.

Responsibilities:

Research & Exploration:

  • Assist in conducting an overall competitive market scan to identify key trends and best practices and to understand the competitive landscape for branding benchmark.
  • Participate in team discussions to understand –and help in refining– the brand strategy, including vision, values, positioning, personality, tone and voice.

Brand Identity Concept Development & Design:

  • Explore, ideate, and develop creative concepts which are aligned with the brand strategy and set us apart from the competition.
  • Based on the chosen creative concept, design the corporate brand identity and expression systems, including but not limited to logos, color schemes, typography, and other visual elements constituting the visual identity and expression system of the brand.
  • Conceptualize and design corporate applications –such as letterheads, business cards, email signatures, presentation templates– and marketing applications –such as brochures, web designs, social media graphics– which align with the brand identity.
  • Put together a complete Brand Identity Guidelines to set forth the brand standards and ensure a consistent and cohesive visual identity in the long run.

Ownership & Team Work:

  • Take ownership of assigned work, progress independently and make informed decisions, all while engaging effectively and proactively with other team members, taking direction when appropriate.
  • Present creative concepts and designs to the team for review, engage in constructive design critique dialogues, and make necessary revisions and adjustments to designs based on feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends and best practices, software updates, and emerging technologies in the field.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Previous internship in a similar position or other relevant hands-on experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Figma.
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS and Apple iWork (especially Keynote).
  • Strong creative and design skills – With an eye for detail and high-quality standards, you strive to propose fresh and unique creative concepts and ideas, and always ensure you deliver the best work you can be proud of.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills – You do not fear over-communication and you are able to effectively communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale as well as to articulate your ideas clearly.
  • Self-motivated, organized, accountable – You are able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, you take ownership of your work and can deliver within specified schedules, all while demonstrating flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing design needs and priorities.
  • Portfolio of previous design work (please send a copy of / link to your portfolio as part of your application).
