We are Venture Builders who specialise in working with Startups for their Asia expansion efforts in Greater China, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. The team has the know-how, proven track record and previous market-entry experiences from successful hyper-growth startups in the region (Airbnb, WeWork, Google and Carousell). Startups partner with us to supercharge their growth by empowering Hype Asia to lead their landing strategy, operations, branding and localisation in new markets. Hype Asia is an initiative that started in early Q2 2017 hence we are still early stages. Our mission is to help startups demystify what the international expansion opportunity means for their growth. By working with us, we help our partners unlock new market opportunities without the frictions of setup, hiring, local know-how and network.
The responsibilities of the Business Development intern will include:
- Facilitate the Market Leads with market research and analytics work for portfolio companies
- Assist in growing the top of funnel lead of startups looking for market expansion
- Assist with general marketing activities including events for Hype or partners
- Assist in creating sales and marketing content for Hype, this includes pitch decks, partner case studies and client testimonials
Requirements
- The ideal candidate has a natural commercial attitude, understands the startup world, and is highly methodical with a strong sense of customer service.
- A natural-born hustler - driven and hard-working individual
- Good attention to detail – proven ability to multitask in a work environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills. Ability to communicate confidently in English is a must. Additional language skills (Bahasa, Thai, or Vietnamese) is a bonus
- Hunger to progress within a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience in the service industry (especially consulting or venture capital) or in a corporate environment is a plus
