Job Description

Hummingbird Bioscience is seeking an Intern to provide support to our Intellectual property team. This is a rare opportunity to learn nuances of IP filings and prosecution while working with an in-house IP team. The intern will get to work on and learn the process of filing and maintaining Patents and Trademark applications. Depending on the technical background, the suitable candidate may also be involved in patent searches and analysis of a patent document. The intern will gain understanding on the techno-legal aspects of patenting drugs and the significance of the same from the business and scientific perspective.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in patent searches, presenting search results and patent analysis
  • Assist in preparation of IP reports and presentations
  • Support IP team in completion of required formal documents
  • Housekeeping of IP activities such as updating IP Tables and keeping record of communications from external counsels
  • Other-ad hoc duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology or related fields
  • Systematic, meticulous, and a fast learner
  • An interest and inclination towards Intellectual property management, prior understanding in this area will be very good to have.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
