Job Summary:
If you enjoy discovering new designs and products from local and abroad, and working with manufacturers and craftsmen to bring quality products to more homes, this position is for you. Join HipVan’s Merchandising team to help us find and develop the best furniture and homewares for our customers! In the process, learn how Merchandising is done for an online store and understand the world of supply chain that helps bring great products to great customers. This is a full-time position and opportunity to join a young and growing team. No experience required but nothing beats enthusiasm and hunger to learn more!
- Work with Buyers to provide administrative support on purchase orders for both local and international vendors
- Timely communications with external partners and our Operations team on incoming shipment of goods
- Assist with product creation, securing product images, writing product description and publishing our products online
- Assist with product-pricing updates
- Liaise with internal stakeholders for product displays and replacement
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to plan for product photoshoots
- Opportunity to learn Merchandising by managing a smaller category
- Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends
- Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality to determine the best choices
- Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity
- Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal HipVan
- Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
- Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget
