Job Description

Job Title: R&D Intern – Resource Recovery (DLE / SCE)Internship Period: June – December 2026 (Full Semester Preferred)Location: Singapore

Job Summary

Gradiant Corporation is a technology-driven company focused on global industrial water treatment solutions. This is a hands-on role in a laboratory environment, where the intern will contribute to the design and development of water and wastewater treatment processes, as well as resource recovery technologies.

The candidate will work closely with the R&D team to develop practical, data-driven solutions, particularly in Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) and Selective Contaminant Extraction (SCE) technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize various extraction and conversion technologies

  • Perform sorbent/membrane synthesis and characterization, including jar and column testing and feasibility studies

  • Prepare test plans using Design of Experiments (DOE), and develop test reports and presentations

  • Conduct design calculations using simulation tools, statistical methods, and data reconciliation software

  • Support process and skid design, pilot system operation, and preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Provide technical and hands-on support for research and application studies, including chemical preparation, instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and process optimization

  • Perform sample preparation and operate laboratory instruments (e.g., NMR analyzer, pH meter)

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data

  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and provide visibility on project direction and results

  • Support lab safety, chemical handling, and consumables management, while adhering to EHSQ policies and requirements

Requirements

  • Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines

  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment technologies

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills

  • Good communication and writing skills

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and well-organized

  • Good proficiency in English (written and spoken)
