Job Description

Job Scope & Learning Points

  • Be part of the implementation team in Contract Logistics projects
    • Engage customers and other stakeholders to scope out their logistic needs
    • Source for suppliers and establish the scope of work and KPIs
    • Ensure that system is set in place and running smoothly
    • Coordinate between customer and warehouse for existing business to learn about general warehouse function and activities
    • Hands-on learning of Warehouse Management System

  • Understand the overall revenue and cost structure of a logistics company
    • Assist to administer a company budget process
    • Access system reports on revenue, cost and other items to measure various business units on actual monthly performance
    • Record company overheads, staff claims and incentives

  • Cross Border Trucking & Department Administrator
    • Learn how less-than-truckload cross border trucking operations between Singapore and Malaysia (vice-versa), in areas such as
      • Hub-and-spoke system
      • Custom clearance, permits and documentation
      • Types of trucks, capacity, utilization and costs

    • Report preparation and analysis on CBT performance
      • Extract system billing records and populate the shipment spreadsheet
      • Perform quality checks on vendor billing and process cost allocation
      • Preparation of reports and presentation materials to Management and/or key customers

  • Be part of a team that uses technology and various means to find creative solutions for existing business problems. For example, learn about RPA and how to deploy it in the company.

Requirements / Additional Notes

  1. Able to intern for 6 months or longer. Option to convert to a full-time permanent job will be offered upon completion of internship if the intern is deemed to be highly capable.
  2. Strong Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
  3. Applicants should be proficient in Excel and confident of using formulas such as Vlookup, Sumifs, Countifs, Pivot Table.
  4. Attention to detail and highly meticulous.
  5. Ability to work on assigned tasks/projects independently.
  6. Adaptable to work situation and exercise logical discretion in ambiguity
