We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join us as a Regional Service Support (RSS) Intern within Georg Fischer
About the RSS Department
The Regional Service Support (RSS) Department serves as the operational backbone supporting service, project execution, and technical activities across the region. The team plays a key role in ensuring customers receive reliable after-sales support, technical expertise, and high-quality service delivery across multiple countries and industries.
What You Will Learn
During this internship, you will gain valuable exposure to both operational and technical aspects of regional service and project support within a multinational environment.
1. Exposure to Service & Field Operations
Gain insight into how on-site service support is delivered, including troubleshooting, inspections, and project coordination
Observe and support site activities such as installation checks and issue resolution
2. Hands-on Experience in Technical Documentation
Learn how to prepare, review, and maintain service reports, project documentation, and claims reports
Understand documentation standards required for project compliance and audit purposes
3. Understanding of Product & Technical Applications
Gain exposure to GF products and applications, including fusion machines, automation products, and piping systems
Learn basic concepts related to weld bead inspection (WBI), calibration, and pre-assembly processes
4. Participation in Training & Demonstrations
Support customer training activities such as welder training and product usage sessions
Assist in product demonstrations, exhibitions, and consultant showcases
5. Project Execution & Lifecycle Exposure
Understand the full project lifecycle, from pre-sales support and preparation to execution and after-sales service
Learn how Sales, Service, and Operations teams collaborate to ensure successful project delivery
6. Equipment & Asset Management Exposure
Gain understanding of machine rental fleet management across regional markets
Learn about maintenance tracking, servicing schedules, and asset utilization
7. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Service Engineers, Project Teams, Sales, and Operations teams
Develop an appreciation of how different business functions contribute to operational excellence
8. Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
Identify gaps in workflows or documentation processes and contribute improvement ideas
Learn structured and standardized ways of working within a global organization
9. Professional & Workplace Skills Development
Develop attention to detail, accountability, and time management skills
Build communication and coordination capabilities in a corporate environment
Key Responsibilities
1 Service Administration Support
• Assist in preparation and processing of service reports, job sheets, and related documentation
• Ensure completeness and proper filing of service records
• Support tracking of service activities and follow-up actions
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain required documentation
2 Project Documentation Support
• Assist in maintaining project documentation such as purchase orders, delivery documents, and invoices
• Support project teams in document control and version tracking
• Organize and archive project files according to company standards
• Assist in preparing project reports and status updates
3 Data Entry & System Updates
• Input and update data in internal systems such as CRM, ERP, or tracking tools
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across platforms
• Support report generation for service and project tracking
4 Coordination & Administrative Support
• Liaise with cross-functional teams for document collection and coordination
• Support scheduling of service or project-related activities
• Perform general administrative duties as assigned 20%
Requirements
Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in ME/Chem Engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
