Data Science Intern

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Data Science Intern to join our team at Genie Health. This is a unique opportunity to apply your skills to real-world health challenges, gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment, and see your work directly impact people's lives.

You will support our data science team in building the core intelligence that powers our platform, helping us make health data understandable, predictive, and actionable for our users.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to model development: Assist in designing and developing algorithms to interpret and predict health outcomes using multi-source data (lab reports, wearables, lifestyle tracking).

• Support data analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends in population and longitudinal health data.

• Assist in building insights: Work with the team to refine models that surface personalized health insights and early warnings.

• Help with integration: Support the product and engineering teams in integrating AI models into the Genie platform.

• Contribute to projects: Assist with tasks related to model fairness, explainability, and compliance with healthcare data regulations.

• Translate findings: Help translate complex data analysis into clear recommendations for product features and user experiences.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Statistics, or a related field.

• Some coursework or project experience in machine learning and analytical modeling.

• Proficiency in Python and SQL.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Tableau).

• A strong problem-solving mindset and a desire to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Generative AI or NLP techniques.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Interest in health data formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or the healthcare domain.
