Finance Intern (6 months)
The purpose of this internship is to allow you to build your analytical, technical and leadership skills. The project that you work on will offer you the opportunity to work with individuals in different capacities, within Finance and other functions.
- Performance management: Act as financial analyst for the business partner for Singapore OpCo (Operating Council) – analysing and interpreting financial information, COGS analysis and preparation of financial deck
- Support cross function team: Sales and Marketing in Trade spend analysis and financial evaluation of NPD (new product innovation)
- Internal Controls: Support and build sustainable controls and processes ensuring compliance and good governance
Some of the areas you will cover:
Performance management:
- Preparation of Financial deck for management – Net Sales performance by brand, Quarterly Sales and P&L development, Trade inventory tracking, Working Capital and DSO KPI performance
- Scenario planning with Brand and Customer P&L for Consumer and Food Service Business
- Liaising with immediate team and across business functions to compare performance to latest forecast highlighting key drivers
- COGS deep dive analysis with invoice, impact of BCPs (Butter Commodity prices), FX and market Adder
- Support ad-hoc reporting requests of business partners as needed
Cross Functional team support:
- Support Consumer Sales Trade spend actual claims check with Forecast and accruals
- Prepare and update the New Product development (NPD) financial evaluation template for Sales and marketing for evaluation of new launches
- Consumer Trade inventory tracking to understand inventory build/burn and drive opportunities for inventory improvement
Internal Controls:
- Support and build sustainable controls and processes ensuring compliance and good governance
SAP Skills:
- An opportunity to learn and apply SAP skillsets in the areas of FI and CO Modules
Key Skills & Attitude:
- Students in the final year with a major in accounting or finance at a local University in Singapore
- Good knowledge of finance and proficient in excel and pivot
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external parties
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Positive and enthusiastic team player who can collaborate across cultures
