JOB DESCRIPTION
The Junior Design Engineer (JDE) role is to support the System Consultant (SC) in preparing Technical Sales Proposals and securing Projects through a structured process.
To support the Distribution business channel, will involve assisting the System Consultant (SC) in the Preparation of Quotations, Project Design, Project Costing & Tracking, Supervision of the QC process and Communication with all parties involved in the project.
The role will interface with other functions- Balancing Centre, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain and use of the Company ERP system to enable the deliverables & execution of their function.
1. Design & Coordinating Proposals (inc. Tools)
The JDE is to support the SC in the designing & recommending the best Client solutions:
• Support SC in applying the construction methods of roofs, gutters, gravity rainwater outlets and pipes
• Support SC in applying the construction methods, procedures and details of Fast Flow products.
• Support SC in coordination and monitoring of Client design with Team
• Support SC in preparing Client Design complete Proposal(s)
2. Distribution & Design Support
The JDE will support the SC to ensure that FF solution(s) is well presented & communicated appropriately:
• Support effective communication with Fast Flow using schematic drawing and sketches
• Support Client solution(s) effectively & able to explain logic & technical basis for proposal(s)
• Support effective communications with distribution technical department (design manager)
• Support coordinating of internal effective communications with other FF support units eg: Balancing Centre, Design team, Commercial, Supply Chain & Finance central functions.
• Support Distribution Team on remote communications, process & organisational interfaces
3. Planning & Scheduling Activities
The JDE will assist the SC in coordinating the Distribution Channel projects.
• Support SC in Project Proposal inventory forecast & demand time frame to Supply Chain Team.
• Support clients with standard outlet installation details
4. Compliance
The JDE must ensure full support via the SC to company Policies & to the adherence of FF design rules & specifications. All excursions from FF standards & specifications will constitute a non-compliance & FF violation of standards.
• Assist in preparation of the following:
• Ensure Drawing Compliance Standards
• Technical Dept Filing Conventions
• Schematics Revision Table
• Schematics communication conventions
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit and BIM
• 0 to 2 years of working experiences.
