Internship Hiring – Junior Software Engineer

* Purpose

• To provide internship opportunities for Computer Science students from NUS.
• Intern will support full stack development and learn through real product tasks.
• Focus on AI-assisted development using Cursor AI (code suggestions, refactoring, and testing).

* Skill Expectations

• Solid foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, and backend basics (e.g., Node.js, Python, or PHP).
• Comfortable using GitHub and basic CI/CD workflows.
• Exposure to React, Vue, or similar JS frameworks preferred.
• Willingness to explore and adopt AI pair programming tools like Cursor AI.
• Able to read and interpret API docs, integrate 3rd-party tools.

* Internship Tasks (Hands-On Involvement)

1. Frontend Adjustments
   • Assist in minor UI/UX improvements on existing dashboards.
   • Fix CSS issues or test responsiveness.
2. Backend Support
   • Add/update minor endpoints.
   • Debug console logs and handle minor logic adjustments under supervision.
3. Cursor AI Integration
   • Learn prompt writing to instruct Cursor AI effectively.
   • Assist the team in refactoring legacy code using AI-generated suggestions.
   • Test AI-generated code blocks in safe staging branches.
4. Documentation & Testing
   • Help document code, functions, and component behaviour.
   • Contribute to testing by reviewing AI-assisted pull requests.

* Timeline & Routine

• Internship should align with NUS semester breaks or yearly cycles (e.g., May–July or Dec–Feb).
• Routine onboarding into:
  • Developer SCRUM syncs
  • Version control rules
  • Pair programming with AI guidelines
