About EDF Lab Singapore
EDF Lab Singapore is the Asia-Pacific R&D centre of the EDF Group, a global leader in low-carbon electricity. Since 2014, its multidisciplinary team has been developing innovative solutions for smart grids, renewable integration, hydrogen, storage, clean mobility, and energy markets. We work closely with industrial partners, government agencies, and academic institutions across Southeast Asia.
To support our ongoing research on the transformation of power markets and renewable energy policy, we are opening an internship position for a passionate candidate interested in energy transition, economic policy, and market strategy.
Mission Overview
You will contribute to EDF Lab Singapore’s research in electricity markets, energy policy, and carbon-free energy. The internship will focus on market research, regulatory analysis, and qualitative research to support projects such as 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy and ASEAN electricity cooperation. You will work in collaboration with a cross-functional team of economists, engineers, and strategists.
This is a unique opportunity to explore how electricity markets are evolving to support decarbonization, digitalization, and regional integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative analysis of electricity market, including market dynamics, regulation, etc with a focus on APAC region.
- Support policy and regulatory research related to Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), cross-border electricity trade and REC trading framework, and electricity imports.
- Support the policy and market monitoring on 24/7 Carbon Free Energy (CFE) project
- Assist in studies related to data centres’ energy sourcing strategies and their role in driving new market mechanisms.
- Contribute to the development of research briefs, internal reports, and policy notes.
- Support EDF Lab in developing academic collaborations with local universities and think tanks on energy market and policy topics.
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or other related discipline
- Passionate about renewable energy industry, energy transition, energy finance and power market Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Eligible to work in Singapore
- Able to commit at least 6 months (full-time) or 10 months (part-time) I
