Edcess Private Limited (“Edcess”) is an Early-stage EdTech start-up with a mission to make quality education accessible to everyone. To accomplish that, Edcess has embarked on a journey to become a one-stop education service provider, providing on-demand tutoring solutions (via EdcessAsk) and online & offline (“O&O”) tuition services. EdcessAsk is a marketplace that connects motivated students with qualified tutors for homework help with an option to engage tutors for full-time tuition service.

We are looking for a software engineer and Computer science specialist with a can-do and entrepreneurial attitude to join and complete our founding team (private equity investor, ex-investment banking, ex-educator, accountant).

Role Description

You will be one of our key software engineer interns with the potential to grow alongside a highly promising Edtech startup. You will develop and implement new-user features of an EdTech mobile app that will invigorate the Singapore education landscape. You will report and work directly with the CTO office of Edcess. You will work cross-functionally across marketing, product and operations to support the overall objectives of the business.

Specific Responsibilities

• Design, implement the new-user features and maintain existing features of our mobile application.
• Collaborate with the design & marketing and product team member to develop an excellent mobile application experience.
• Optimize mobile applications and user experience on the iOS platform.
• Deploying mobile application on the Android platform.
• Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work on a tight schedule.
• Support the overall technology efforts of EdcessAsk and Edcess Private Limited.

Competencies

• Required technical skillsets: Flutter, firebase, Typescript, VueJS, native iOS development.
• Bonus technical skillsets: HTML, CSS, JS (WordPress)
• Ability to understand and de-bug complex codebases.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and make decisions independently.
• Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work on a tight schedule.
• Experience in android development is a plus but not required.
