Job Description

Scope

S/He will be involved in supporting various functions of a social enterprise including research, planning and execution of school programs and special projects. You will be exposed to various aspects of a social enterprise and will get to handle multiple stakeholders on various projects. An excellent way to get experience and exposure to various activities of a social enterprise in an educational sector.

Responsibilities 

  • Support the Director / Program Manager - Special Projects in designing, planning, and implementing various school and special projects engaging multiple stakeholders. Apart from schools, the stakeholders may include government agencies, corporate organizations, social sector organizations, and other strategic partners of DFCsg
  • Manage inter-school challenges and annual events with mentoring support from the management. 
  • Market research, database management, and marketing activities for greater outreach for all ongoing projects
  • Support the execution of ongoing school and special projects
  • Other administrative duties as necessary as part of the project coordination

 Knowledge and Skills

  • The student preferably completes or has completed a marketing/business or social entrepreneurship course, sociology, design, or social sector subjects.
  • Good research, analysis, and business writing skills are necessary
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
  • Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills, and strong analytical ability.
  • Project Management skills: Experience in handling events or special projects in poly or university, will be an added advantage.
  • Flexible, creative, and an ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and independently.
  • Experience in social media marketing will be preferred.
  • Interest in character education / design-thinking / training is an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in word and excel
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Taking ownership of the assigned work
  • The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy with an eye for detail
  • Responsible for good self-management habits and self-motivated to complete tasks without constant supervision
  • Willingness to learn and multi-task
  • Creative and can think out of the box (an advantage)

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work for 30-40hours a week (in work location twice a week only)
  • Commitment for 4 months (until mid-November)
  • Internship fees: $350-500 per month (based on time commitment)
  • Working log to be maintained on a weekly basis
  • Commitment for at least 6 months, starting August 2022 (preferred)
  • The contract may be extended and have the potential for contract work in 2023
