Job Description

Project Intern, Loan Operations, Administration & Settlements (July to December 2026)


Position Overview:

Reporting to the Team Leader, the incumbent, among other responsibilities, will support the team in managing and overseeing the loan portfolio, ensuring accurate loan account maintenance, processing payments, handling inquiries and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations. This role involves working closely with borrowers, facility agents, banks and other stakeholders to provide efficient loan processing, servicing and administrative support. 

  1. Assist in loan documentation review, record trades and cashflow projection of entire loan lifecycle in system.
  2. Support loan disbursement and settlement process, including data entry, reconciliation and verification of transactions details 
  3. Prepare and distribute payment notice, rate fixing and fee notices 
  4. Monitor and reconcile all receivables, track overdue payments and flag payment delays.
  5. Respond to queries, address, resolve trade related discrepancies and exceptions.
  6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as front office, finance, treasury, collateral management, risk, and technology teams to optimize loan operations and ensure accurate representation in systems.
  7. Collaborate with counterparties, facility agents, custodians, clearing houses, banks and internal teams to address and resolve trade settlements, payment discrepancies, exceptions and escalations.
  8. Support the team in exception handling, system testing, audit and other ad-hoc tasks.
  9. Fine-tuning, developing procedures and work processes. 
  10. Participate in projects, system enhancements and other ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance or related field. 
  • Ability to understand, interpret and extract key operational and financial terms from credit/loan agreements and transfer documents and translate loan documentation into operational setup, including rate terms, amortization schedules, fees and payment instructions
  • Knowledge and understanding of debt financing products, financial market, credit agreements.
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat for PDF editing, document management, text lookup, navigation and search tools. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Words) including Excel formulas, pivot table, cloud-based collaboration tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc). 
  • Exception attention to detail, problem-solving agility and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders. 
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess strong work ethic (especially when there are tight deadlines), ability to prioritise, multi-task and to work with minimal supervision.
  • Explore initiatives to automate manual processes with the objective to achieve productivity gain, enhance control and eliminate operational errors
  • Exposure to the development and refinement of operational procedures, work processes and systems
  • Eagerness to learn, with mindset of questioning and cross-checking information
  • Accept ownership and accountability for agreed upon targets and deliverables
