Chess.sg – Weekend Centre Manager

Chess.sg is a chess academy at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, three minutes from Beauty World MRT. We run group classes for ages 4 to 16, weekly FIDE-rated tournaments, holiday camps, 1:1 coaching, and school programmes, with hundreds of kids coming through each month. We are a small, young team building the most active chess centre in Singapore, and weekends are when the place comes alive.

Weekend Centre Manager

You run the centre on weekends. You are the face parents see, the voice on our WhatsApp, and the person who keeps the day moving.

What you'll do:

• Open and close the centre, keep it neat and stocked
• Welcome parents and kids, handle walk-in enquiries at the front desk
• Answer our WhatsApp during shift hours
• Follow up on trials and close new sign-ups ($20 for every student you sign)
• Keep our CRM and class records updated
• Step in to assist classes when they run big

Who we're looking for:

• Chess rating 1000+ online on chess.com or lichess blitz or rapid with at least 50 games played (we will check)
• Genuinely warm with parents and kids, sociable, presentable
• Organised and reliable
• Able to commit every weekend through 2027, Y1-2 poly or uni students ideal
• Singapore Citizen or PR preferred

Hours and pay:

• Sat 9:00am-12:30pm, Sun 9:00am-6:15pm (1h lunch break on Sun) 
• $14/h to start, rising to $15/h at 3 months and $16/h at 9 months based on performance
• Plus $20 per new student you close
• Weekend contract role, computer provided
• Path to paid teaching: our coaches train you to assist and eventually run classes
