Intern, Group Risk (either full-time LOA or part-time from Jul - Dec 2023)
The incumbent, working with the Group Risk team at the Holding Company, shall assist the team with their broad responsibilities in managing the portfolio of project finance, asset-backed finance held by our operating companies. He/She will be able to acquire risk-related skill sets, adhering to the risk culture of “no surprises” within the Company. The individual will be working under the oversight and guidance of senior individuals in the Risk team.
There will be opportunities for the incumbent to assist with the following tasks:
- Perform analysis on the portfolio to provide senior management with necessary insights;
- Monitoring of financial markets and relevant risk measures to ensure “no surprises”;
- Perform subject-specific research on credit related matters;
- Assist in the review of risk models including IFRS 9 PD models and LGD models;
- Assist in overseeing interest rate risk and FX risk;
- Assist with climate risk stress testing including the analysis and reporting of results;
- Assist in the implementation of a risk analytics system;
- Assist in performing user acceptance testing;
- Assist in the preparation of information required by auditors
Knowledge/ Experience Required:
- Completed / pursuing a good university degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related subject
- Interest in credit risk, market risk and risk analytics
- Strong analytical skills. A good understanding of key credit and structuring risks will be advantageous, but not essential
- Adept at Excel, Powerpoint and Word
- Pleasant personality and a good team player with the ability to demonstrate initiative and work well with minimal supervision and within tight timeframes
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Growth mindset, detailed and solution-oriented
