About the Team

The Acoustic Engineering project aims to provide predictive maintenance and model identification services through the sole use of acoustics. This project deeply aligns with Carro’s overarching goals of harmonising automobiles with cutting-edge technology. The Acoustic Engineering team is wholeheartedly driven to provide as seamless a service as possible to users by replacing cumbersome practices with more efficient alternatives with innovation as it’s backbone. Job Description

Carro is seeking to hire a mobile engineer intern with a proven and demonstrable track record of building reliable applications in iOS and/or Android.

We are looking for Mobile Engineers to assist in mobile application development in a fun, dynamic, innovative and impactful engineering team. The products you create will be directly driving change in Carro’s future operations in the South East Asia region. You’ll be expected to be an excellent team player that leads and/or assists fellow data scientists/engineers in product design, development, implementation and documentation. 

Main Responsibilities

The candidate will be working on the development of the acoustic mobile application, Engine AI, that taps on the existing and future AI products developed by the Data Science, Acoustic team.

Hands-on involvement in prototype, design, develop, implement, document and support of mobile applications while upholding mobile development standard, best practices and methodologies.

Actively proposing new features, functionality and ideas to improve the mobile apps.

Provide operational support, maintenance of code quality, bugs-fixes and git-versioning post implementation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Proficient in programming skill using Javascript, React Native, and Node.js.
• Familiarity and use of mobile IDE tools such as XCode and Android Studio.
• Familiarity with Expo Deployment for iOS and Android applications.
• Familiarity with UI/UX tools (e.g. Figma), to develop wireframes and UI mockups
• Basic understanding of cloud services (e.g. AWS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Final year students and fresh graduates majoring in Computer Science or relevant fields.
• Familiarity with REST API.
• Familiar with agile development, prototyping, continuous integration, code deployment tools, workflows and source management tools (Git, Notion, etc).
• Knowledge of mobile UI design principles, patterns and industry best practices
• Good communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
