BSQ Special Opportunities is the industry’s first dedicated special situations investment strategy offering tailored capital solutions to digital asset and blockchain-enabled businesses. Special Opportunities takes a highly thematic approach to investing that has the flexibility to capture opportunities throughout market cycles, capital structures, and asset types. Our goal is to support the long-term growth of the digital ecosystem while maximizing risk-adjusted returns for our investors underpinned by an emphasis on value, downside protection, and upside optionality.

We are seeking an intern to join our special situations investment team. This is an opportunity to work alongside a high calibre team on some of the most exciting deals in the space, as well as experience the start-up and entrepreneurial culture of a young company.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for deal execution, internal memos and marketing
• Conduct industry and product research
• Perform appropriate business and financial analyses / modelling
• Participate in the execution and due diligence of investments
• Monitor and report latest market news and events
• Support team in portfolio management
• Contribute to other areas of the business as needed

Position Requirements

• Previous finance work experience, preferably in investment banking (M&A or coverage), or funds (private equity, special situations/credit, hedge funds)
• Keen interest in blockchain industry. Prior experience in related blockchain companies/funds is a strong plus, but not required
• Excellent presentation (Powerpoint) and analytical (Excel) skills
• Strong grasp of corporate finance fundamentals
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Natural curiosity to learn and seek exposure to new concepts
• Fluent in English. Additional Asian language is preferred, but not a must
• Courses in accounting, corporate finance and/or economics
• Working permit in Singapore / Hong Kong is required
