We are hiring on behalf of our client. Our client is a well-established food distribution company that provides Japanese food supply to their clients.
Summary:
As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation and distribution of food products. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely and efficient delivery, optimizing routes, and maintaining communication with drivers and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Route Planning: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transportation costs. Consider factors such as traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and vehicle capacity. Familiar with Singapore street directory.
- Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely deployment of delivery vehicles. Booking lorry parking bay at shopping malls. Monitor the status of each delivery and address any issues that may arise.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers, providing updates and addressing concerns. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and warehouse, to streamline operations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Arrange truck for inspection & services. Inspect all trucks cleanliness & in good conditions. Ensure that all vehicles are in optimal condition for safe and efficient operation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules, vehicle maintenance, and driver activities.
- Generate reports on key performance indicators and recommend improvements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in traffic control, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably in the food distribution industry.
- Have Class 3 license to act as backup driver for delivery if needed.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with routing software and GPS systems.
- Ability to work in warehouse environment.
- Standby duties for weekends & public holidays.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday 830am to 530pm.
- Location: Tanjong Penjuru (Company bus pick up at Jurong East MRT station).
