Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Alternative Investment

• Analyze, research and prepare investment reports on specific opportunities / sectors in alternative investments. Carry out project study on alternative investment opportunities in Asia.

• Conduct secondary research and assist in the preparation of market views, presentations, research papers and/or business cases.

• Identify feasibility of investing in alternative assets in Asia, which covers assets like real estates, private equity, infrastructure, renewable energy etc.

• Understand local regulatory environment, current market conditions, types of investment available, opportunity and pitfalls, especially in countries like China, India, Singapore and Indonesia.

• Map opportunities and make recommendations of segments that best fit our current portfolios to enhance return in alternative space.

Asset Manager Management

• Carry out financial / investment analysis, market analysis, fund analysis, project analysis.

• Analysis of investment strategies using the tools.

• Understand AIM's fund scoring model, asset manager scoring model.

• Develop fund performance measurements and asset manager performance measurements.

• Project managed asset manager search, review and selection.

• Develop Bloomberg API and enhance existing analysis and performance tools.

• Participate in conference calls with asset managers, economists, strategists and provide summary notes.

• Prepare asset manager dashboard and management reporting.

Others

• Carry out ad-hoc requests needed to support investment activities and operations.

Key Requirements

1. Students in second year or above, doing Bachelor's or master’s in business finance or economics.

2. Priority will be given to students who can commit full time for 6 months but students with part-time availability (min. 2 days a week) may be considered.

3. Should be able to carry out research activities, possess excellent analytical ability and problem solving skills.

4. Competencies in financial modeling: fixed income, equity and derivative asset classes, and their valuation.

5. Basic understanding of investment management, portfolio management and asset-liability management. Knowledge and previous experience of Asian capital markets, e.g. SEA, China, India will be added advantage.

6. Have past internship experiences in financial/banking/investment industries.

7. Desire to work in fast-paced environment - highly driven, goal-oriented, able to work independently with little oversight, comfortable in working under ambiguity.

8. Self-starter, inquisitiveness, creative, focus and meticulous.

9. Passion and drive for financial markets and current affairs.

10. Time management, project management, organization and multi-tasking.

11. Client-orientated attitude, good presentation skills.

12. Collaborative and team-working abilities.

13. Fluent in written and spoke English mandatory, other Asian languages considered a plus.
