Activation Lab – Junior Advertising Copywriter

As a Junior Copywriter, you're expected to have next to no experience. If you have some, we'd be even happier. But what we're looking for is someone with a high threshold for pain. Pain because of tight deadlines, unreasonable requests to mangle the English language, writing copy with no information whatsoever, and having to deal with an extremely demanding boss. In addition, we expect you to be creative, have an over-active imagination, and the guts to accept failure, instead of stomping off every time your idea is killed. Yes, we understand you might be a Millennial, but Boomers also possess some good traits. Hence it'd be good if you had an old soul, because ideas are drawn from everywhere. If your creative inspiration is based only on Billie Eilish, then we won't be getting very far. Having said that, we love Billie Eilish and Lizzo, but we also love Tom Jones and Prince.

Now the serious part, it's a thankless job that everyone thinks they can do, but not many can. Everyone thinks they can write, and scoring an A in your Primary 6 composition does not immediately qualify you for this job. Having said that, we expect you to possess the basics, meaning A's in English, a grammar Nazi, anal-retentive when it comes to spelling, and becoming an all-round a&$ when someone disses the English language. On the flip side, we would love for you to be sweet as pie despite your rabid attacks on plebeians who can't distinguish between their and they're.

Finally, we welcome all ages, as long as you have an open, curious and imaginative mind. You can be fresh out of poly, or maybe you're someone named Milton whose red stapler has been taken away. Either way, the pay isn't going to help you BTO, yet. Remember, it's a junior position, and you still have next to no experience.
