Abbott Laboratories (Singapore) Pte Ltd – Finance Analyst Intern

(1) Process optimization and simplification

- Assist Area Controller to optimize the current month-end closing process, including standardizing and streamlining the monthly closing review process, standardizing routine reports and creating a systematic and sustainable process going forward. 

- Assist Area Controller to optimize cost center management process and create a systematic approach in reporting cost center reports to owners on a periodic basis. 

(2) System optimization and solution

- Explore leveraging digital platform to gradually move routine reports to digital platform with less manual interventions to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. 

- Liaise with Global team to investigate any system related issues (i.e. TM1, Cognos etc.), identify root cause of such issues and resolve them at the root cause. 

(3) FP&A support - Month Reporting

- Support weekly/daily sales update to corporate. Support month-end closing and sales reconciliation in financial system. 

- Analyze monthly SEAHaWK market, distributors, sales and financial performance, provide insightful observations and recommendations on underlying drivers of business results to ensure we achieve our financial commitments.

- Monitor in-market distributor inventories, and create a process of collecting and reporting TMS/IMS/Inventory/DOH results and analysis to country GMs on a standardized and streamlined approach. 

- Provide quality ad-hoc analysis to influence senior management decisions. 

(4) FP&A support - Forecasting and Planning

- Support Area Controller in planning and execution of the quarterly LBE budgeting and forecasting processes. 

- Prepare budgets and business plans with SEAHaWK GM and business managers, under the supervision of Area Controller.

- Prepare consolidations for regional management reviews and presentation slides preparations.
