Through our cross-sector collaboration with sector developers, grantmakers, corporates and volunteers, we bridge the capacity gap of the social service sector by channelling talents, skills and resources to co-create innovative solutions, thus empowering our clients to make a greater impact.

To date, Empact has worked with more than 2,000 social organisations in the region, with a contribution of savings of up to $9 million in professional services rendered pro bono for the sector.

Empact was conferred a "Company of Good (3 Hearts)" by Singapore's National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) in 2025. The organization also won the President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) City of Good Award in 2022 for the "Pro Bono School" initiative in partnership with Procter & Gamble and Credit Suisse, as well as the President's Challenge Social Enterprise Champion 2023 award in recognition of our sustained contribution to the social enterprise ecosystem.

In our multi-year journey of driving social impact across Asia, we continue to evolve and bridge regional insights to local needs, bringing people, partnerships, and digital tools to work together to amplify impact. We have been active in Mainland China (Shanghai) and Hong Kong SAR, besides Singapore, learning, contextualising and scaling capacity-building models, including in "Tech/AI for Good".

Job Description

An Overview

As a Consultant in the Social Technology team, you will be at the direct intersection of strategic advisory services, hands-on digital tools delivery, and social impact. Your multi-faceted role will encompass being a technical implementation lead for clients, driving end-to-end digital transformation by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the stakeholders within non-profit organizations (NPOs), social service agencies (SSAs) and grantmakers, and acting as part software engineer, part solutions architect, and part advisory partner, taking custom technical solutions from early prototype through to stable production in real-world environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Digital Transformation & Tech Advisory. Conduct digital readiness assessments and workflow audits for non-profits to identify operational bottlenecks, data gaps, and technology needs. Recommend, design, and scope affordable, fit-for-purpose technology solutions tailored to the social sector — ranging from Donor Management Systems (such as Empact's Ka-Ching) to CRMs, enterprise tools, and cloud platforms. Drive practical, ethical AI initiatives and process automation tools (e.g., automated reporting, workflow streamlining) to improve efficiency across partner organisations. Help build and refine Empact's social tech service offerings, frameworks, toolkits, and proprietary platforms.
  • End-to-End Project Delivery. Lead cross-functional tech implementation and onboarding projects from inception through deployment, ensuring deliverables stay within scope, on schedule, and aligned with client budgets. For Empact's product and platform operations, lead project development, kick-off sessions, implementation, work processes, client onboarding, and ongoing client management and support. Assist in developing and deploying tech services, maintaining a consumer-focused approach to market delivery.
  • Client Management. Serve as the strategic advisor and primary point of contact for non-profit executives, board members, corporate donors, and grantmaker stakeholders. Guide SSAs in navigating national capability schemes, such as the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) Industry Digital Plan for Social Service (IDPSS) and Community Capabilities Trust (CCT) funding.
  • Capacity Building & Capability Transfer. Design change management frameworks and conduct user training/workshops to ensure non-profit staff easily adopt new digital tools. Lead pilot programmes, tech hackathons, and skills-based volunteer initiatives by managing corporate tech volunteers, student groups, and interns to deliver tech solutions for NPOs. Coordinate specific initiatives and events, such as learning journeys for the Social Innovation Programme.
  • Internal IT Support, Data Management and Digital Solutions. Provide hands-on troubleshooting, manage general IT matters, and assist Empact staff with hardware and software needs. Manage data backup, recovery plans, data migration, and data structuring for critical data. Coordinate internal Odoo platform onboarding, usage, and technical support. Upgrade and optimize the contact database system. Design and execute staff training programs for onboarding onto new software systems.
  • Team Leadership. Ideate and collaborate on Social Tech operations, write proposals (such as joint proposals across teams), and manage cross-functional initiatives. Mentor junior consultants, executives, and interns on technology advisory methodologies, project frameworks, and client engagement best practices.
  • Business Development. Participate in business development, scoping client proposals, pitching strategic engagements, and identifying grant/funding opportunities for client tech initiatives.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed on emerging technology trends and developments to continuously improve operations.

This job is for you if you are:

  • Client-focused, building strong customer relationships and earning clients' trust by actively understanding their needs, persistently resolving their issues, remaining adaptable and effective under pressure, and acting as an effective bridge between clients and the Empact team.
  • Product-driven, demonstrating strong product knowledge, passion for social tech solutions, and active engagement in market opportunities.
  • Resourceful and innovative in problem solving, able to devise creative and fit-for-purpose solutions, think outside the box, and resolve technical challenges fast while maintaining clear communication regarding status and resourcing.
  • An adept change manager for internal and external clients to ensure the smooth adoption of technology.
  • Experienced in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, and able to work on several projects concurrently, prioritising effectively
  • Able to thrive in an action-oriented and agile environment
  • Comfortable with assuming responsibility for varied internal and external portfolio

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8 years or more of total experience in IT/management consulting, digital transformation, system implementation, and/or tech project management. Prior exposure to the social service or non-profit sector in Singapore would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, CRM/ERP, donor management tools, workflow automation, low-code platforms, and practical workplace AI applications.
  • Strong analytical thinking, requirements gathering, and business process mapping skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills—the ability to translate complex technical jargon into accessible, actionable guidance for non-technical non-profit leaders.
