Job Description

We're looking for a Sales Consultant to be the face of Spaceman in our showroom — guiding customers through appointment-based consultations, understanding their space and lifestyle needs, and helping them find the right furniture solution for their home. This isn't a transactional retail job. Every visitor has booked time specifically to see us, which means your job is consultative: listen, advise, design a solution, and close with confidence.

THE ROLE

  • Host scheduled showroom appointments, walking customers through our space-saving furniture range (murphy beds, sofa beds, storage beds, dining and living solutions)
  • Understand each customer's space constraints, budget, and lifestyle to recommend the right configuration and finish
  • Guide customers from initial interest through to confirmed sale, handling objections and pricing conversations with confidence
  • Maintain strong product knowledge across our full catalogue, including materials, mechanisms, and customization options
  • Follow up with prospective customers post-visit to nurture undecided leads toward a booking or sale
  • Keep accurate records of appointments, customer preferences, and sales outcomes

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in sales, ideally in furniture, interior design, retail, or another consultative/big-ticket sales environment
  • Strong communication skills — comfortable guiding a conversation, asking the right questions, and reading what a customer actually needs
  • Genuine interest in design, space planning, or home furnishings
  • Confident closing skills without being pushy — our customers value trust and expertise
  • Organized and self-directed; comfortable managing an appointment-based schedule
  • Comfortable with pricing conversations and negotiating within guidelines
