Responsibilities:
1. Operational Support & Project Assistance
Provide comprehensive support to Network Engineers in Level 2 user assistance, project implementation, and day-to-day operational activities. Contribute to maintaining high network uptime, ensuring service reliability, and driving continuous improvement in network performance and service delivery. 2. Monitoring & Reporting
Assist in monitoring on-premises network performance and resource utilization to ensure optimal efficiency. Prepare analytical reports and performance insights to identify potential bottlenecks, recommend corrective actions, and support data-driven operational improvements. 3. Documentation & Knowledge Management
Develop, maintain, and update detailed technical documentation for network operations, configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures. Ensure all documentation is accurate, consistent, and easily accessible to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence across the team.
Qualifications
Requirements:
These are the core competencies required for effective network operations and support:
• Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, and switching concepts.
• Network Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba).
• Network Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or Cisco DNA Center for performance monitoring and alert management.
• Incident & Problem Management: Ability to diagnose and resolve Level 2 (L2) network issues efficiently.
• Configuration Management: Experience in configuring and maintaining network devices and documenting configuration changes.
• Security Awareness: Understanding of network security best practices, including VPNs, ACLs, and firewall rule management.
• Scripting/Automation (Nice to Have): Familiarity with automation tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible) for streamlining operational tasks.
• Cloud & Virtual Networking (Advantageous): Basic knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
