Allinton was founded in 1982. In those days, it was difficult to source for quality hardware and engineering tools. Procuring tools meant visiting numerous hardware stores just to get the suitable ones at fair prices – a tedious and time-consuming chore. This inspired our founder, Mr Albert Chin, to create a large hardware store that offers quality hardware tools at good value so that engineers are able to find the right tools easily.

Today, we are one of Singapore’s largest hardware distributors. Our two warehouses combine a capacity larger than 30,000 sqft and carry ready stocks worth close to $12million. Behind this immense inventory is a fleet of trucks and dedicated drivers supporting deliveries islandwide. Job Description

Job Overview:The Accounts Intern will support the Finance Department in day-to-day accounting operations, gaining hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role offers exposure to the construction industry and practical learning in accounting systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing.
  • Record and verify financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
  • Support month-end closing and preparation of simple financial reports.
  • Compile and organise documentation for accounting and audit purposes.
  • Assist in ad-hoc finance projects or system testing as needed.

 Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (SAP, QuickBooks, Xero) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GST and basic tax procedures is an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and willingness to learn.
  • Interest in gaining practical experience in the construction industry.
