Job Description

We are seeking an analytical Policy & Media Analysis Intern to support our team in tracking media sentiment and evaluating stakeholder activities. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analysing news narratives and forming strategic recommendations based on data. 

Key Responsibilities:

Media Monitoring & Sentiment Analysis 

  • Conduct daily tracking and qualitative analysis of online media related to foreign and security policies; this includes cataloguing coverage, discerning tone and impact, and managing the associated data

Stakeholder Activity Analysis

  • Monitor and evaluate offline public relations activities conducted by key stakeholders (e.g., press conferences, community events) to analyse their reception and effectiveness

Strategic Recommendations & Reporting

  • Synthesize data from both online news and offline events to form actionable strategic recommendations 
  • Other ad-hoc tasks if required

What we require:

The successful candidate should have the following attributes: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Preferably in Political Science, Journalism, International Relations, Mass Communication, Sociology, or Economics) 
  • Keen interest in geopolitics, foreign policy, and current affairs 
  • Attention to detail, sensitive to both qualitative nuances (tone/sentiment) and quantitative data 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to connect media trends to policy outcomes 
  • Excellent command of English, particularly in writing and summarizing complex information 
  • Self-starter, curious, and able to work independently 
  • Able to commit to a part-time schedule (2-3 days a week), starting December onwards
