Having been in the business of optimising warehouses for over four decades, we recognise the manpower and technical challenges faced by warehouse operators. xSQUARE's first mission is to bring you a series of Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) that makes operational and economical sense. xSQUARE's AGVs can be easily implemented without the need to reconfigure the existing warehouse racking and it can co-exist with traditional material-handling equipment and manual human operations.
Supported by an in-house technical team and proprietary reflector-guided technology, xSQUARE's autonomous forklifts provide accuracy and speed in navigations and storage operations for Asia.

Internship Duration: 22 weeks 12 Sep 2022 – 10 Feb 2023
Location: 14 Benoi Road, Singapore 629887 (West, Singapore)
Work days: 5 days / week
Roles & Responsibilities: The intern(s) will be attached to xSQUARE’s R&D department for the development of automatic guided vehicle (AGV) for warehouses. The intern will be shadowing and assisting xSQUARE's engineers in their day to day work.
- Electrical and Electronics (EE)
- Conceptualising EE designs for AGV machine interface.
- Capture EE design in software.
- Build and test prototype.
- Mechanical
- Edit or design mounting brackets or housings for AGV sensors.
- Create 3D designs using CAD software.
- Generate drawings for manufacturing.
- Assemble and install completed designs.
- Software
- Working with Linux OS and ROS to support AGV test and development activities.
Learning Opportunities
- Develop and implement various AGV electronics and subsystems
- Design and install mechanical interface for sensors and various electronic subsystems
- Diagnose forklift electronics system errors, inefficiencies and weaknesses to all manipulated subsystems
Prerequisites
- Principal understanding of Lidar, 3D-camera and laser rangefinders
- Competency in analyzing electrical drawings and electronic schematic designs
- Competency in designing interface electronics
- Competency in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) for mechanical interfaces
- Experience in prototyping (3D-printing, CAD systems)
- Strong team player
- Knowledge of C++ and Python will be an advantage
