Established in 2003, the Wealth Management Institute (“WMI”) is Asia’s Centre of Excellence for wealth and asset management education and research. Founded by Temasek and GIC, WMI is driven by the vision to catalyse Singapore’s growth ambition to become a leading international wealth and asset management centre. We believe that advancing knowledge and capabilities can have a sustainable impact on value creation at an individual, institutional and national level.
WMI is appointed as Singapore’s Lead Training Provider for Private Banking by the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (“IBF”) and supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”). WMI provides a comprehensive suite of practiced-based programmes from IBF accredited certification programmes, Graduate Diploma to Master of Science in Asset and Wealth Management in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University. In 2020, WMI enrolled 17,000 finance professionals from 150 leading financial institutions across 60 programmes.
WMI is commencing an organization-wide initiative to review its processes to achieve the next level of operational excellence and automation. The objectives of the initiative are to improve efficiency and uplift the quality standards in the operations of the institute.
WMI is seeking to engage motivated interns with at least 6 months tenure who will join and support the project team.
Interns will be provided the opportunity to:
• Understand how an established education institute operates.
• Present and articulate their ideas to senior WMI management.
• Gain practical experience in planning and execution of the project.
• Be mentored and learn from experienced professionals.
Main responsibilities of the role are:
• Project Management
- Support the project team in the development of the project plan, tracking of project activities against milestones, capturing project issues and risks.
- Develop document control procedures to ensure proper versioning and archival of project documents.
- Develop regular management reports to provide insights on project progress.
• Process Reviews and Re-engineering
- Participate in the project team’s effort to plan, organize and conduct of reviews to map out current processes.
- Design and propose improvements to current processes.
- Work with other WMI teams to roll out and implement process improvements.
- Develop measures to capture and quantify the impact of process improvements.
