Very Special Arts Singapore [VSA(S)] is the leading non-profit charity organisation dedicated to providing opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs) to be involved in the arts sphere. VSA(S) works to create and provide access and opportunities for PWDs through the arts. It promotes visual, performing and literary arts through various programmes and events for PWDs. VSA(S) has also established pathways for them to progress and excel in their fields and pursue a career in the arts. It created Singapore’s first inclusive theatre and first inclusive literary art programme, and was founded and launched by Ambassador-at-Large Prof Tommy Koh. Job Description

The ideal candidate should:

  1. Show an interest or appreciation of performing art forms (dance, music, theatre)
  2. Have a good eye for design and experience in videography and/or graphic design
  3. Have good communication skills (not limited to written and spoken language - sign language is a useful communication method);
  4. Be caring, open-minded, and willing to go the extra mile
  5. Good learning attitude and is willing to take ownership of work
  6. Be interested to learn more about the social service sector, and ways to be involved in the community

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Managing volunteers and logistical support for performing arts classes, annual productions, concerts etc.
  • Producing publicity materials (either print or video), conceptualising effective campaigns/ creative ideas to promote programmes/artists on various platforms such as social media etc.
  • Admin work for performing arts classes such as the collection of fees for term classes etc.
