TÜV SÜD Water Services has been awarded a grant in 2016 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop a technical standard for non-sewered sanitation systems. An ISO Project Committee (PC) 318 Community Scale Resource Oriented Sanitation Treatment Systems, was recently formed as part of the standard development process. Singapore has joined as a Participating (P) country member and TÜV SÜD as Project Leader within Secretariat of the PC.
The incumbent will assist the Programme Manager with engagement and outreach to stakeholders to participate as members with the Singapore National Committee and communication efforts through newsletters (internal, external). He/She will also be involved in other communication related tasks within the Water Services team. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain a good understanding and experience in the development sector on sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft news releases and articles, internal and external platforms such as LinkedIn, SusanA, e.t.c
- Designing flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for events hosted by TÜV SÜD
- Organize and attend committee meeting
- Arranging for the distribution of all documents on the agenda, including reports of working groups, and indicating all other documents which are necessary for discussion during the meeting.
- Recording of decisions taken in a meeting and making these decisions available in writing for confirmation during the meeting.
- Preparation of the minutes of meetings to be vetted by the Convenor within 1 week after the meeting and circulated to members.
Key Requirements:
- Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations)
- Excellent writing skills and an effective communicator, both written and oral
- Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop highly desired
- Knowledge of HTML and graphic design
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for working in development sector of sanitation
