TUMCREATE is a research platform for the improvement of Singapore's public transportation, including the deployment of electric and autonomous mobility. Researchers from Technical University Munich and Nanyang Technological University join forces and are funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation as part of the Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE).

A research project has been established to develop advanced models and optimal control techniques for a flexible distribution grid demonstrator (FLEDGE) software framework. In this framework, a case study for a district of Singapore, the electric grid operation is being investigated under various scenarios for electric mobility, photovoltaic generation and electric demand side flexibility.
The goal of this internship is to develop a front end / user interface (UI) for FLEDGE. The work is positioned at the intersection of UI design and front end development and is based on the content / UX definition which is provided. Through the UI, a public audience shall be able to interact with FLEDGE and understand the research findings for the case study.
Main tasks
- Designing the UI elements based on the content / UX definition
- Developing / implementing a web-based desktop front end through the Flask framework for Python
- Interfacing an existing SQL database
Requirements
- Mindset for clear / clean UI design
- Experience with front end development (web-based / preferably through Flask in Python)
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Git
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in both written and spoken English and ability to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures
