Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sickfamiliespersons with disabilities, and children.  We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

Job Description

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To lead the teachers in working towards the Centre and programme goals in close partnership with the Therapists, Social Workers, Associate Psychologist, Administrative Staff and Families of the children
  • To ensure the smooth running of the Early Intervention Programme

Overseeing the Curriculum

  • Ensure that the programme is effective in achieving learning objectives and differentiated to meet individual children’s IEP goals

Supervision

  • Supervise Principal Leads, Lead Teachers, Assistant Teacher and Teacher Aides in their responsibilities within their respective scope of work
  • Mentor and motivate the teachers for quality teaching in areas including teaching strategies, curriculum differentiation, children engagement, behavioral intervention techniques
  • Responsible for the professional development of their supervisees
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for their supervisees

Process and Resources Management

  • Ensure the smooth running of all related processes of the early intervention programme
  • Manage manpower matters including manpower requisition, deployment and leave applications
  • Orientate new teachers to the Centre’s ethos, processes and their job scope
  • Manage volunteers
  • Establish and maintain timeline for various submissions
  • Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of pre-cases, IEP reviews and case conferences
  • Manage Centre resources
  • Oversee the requisition of resources, and monetary claims

Qualifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Intervention/Special Education with Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs)
  • Minimally 8-10 years of experience

Other Information

  • Advertised post is for our new centre located at Pioneer which will operate from Jan 2024
  • Successful candidates will be temporarily deployed to our centre located in Yew Tee for onboarding
