Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sickfamiliespersons with disabilities, and children.  We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

Job Description

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare curriculum plans in time for the group and communicate these plans to the teaching team.
  • Plan, prepare and implement activities and lessons which are age appropriate, according to the level, skill and social development of the group of children served.
  • Supervise and interact with the children in all areas of the programmed, outdoors and during field trips away from the programme.
  • Maintain an environment that helps each child to have a positive experience throughout their learning years.
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect and allow for individual differences.
  • Provide an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for each child and show as much individual attention as possible to each child.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to the programmed policies, health and safety regulations and emergency procedures and be ready to implement these if necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood / Child Psychology / Early Childhood / Psychology
  • Able to communicate with clients’ family members and caregivers of various races and religions
  • Able to work in an inter-disciplinary team that includes social workers, therapists and other teaching colleagues
  • Passion to work with children with special needs
  • Keen to develop professionally
