Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Art Instructor to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality art lessons, providing guidance to students, and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.


Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Instruction:

  • Create and conduct engaging art lessons for all curriculum and workshops, adhering to Thearthaus standards.
  • Develop lesson plans and materials that cater to students of diverse ages and skill levels.
  • Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities.

Student & Parent Communication:

  • Provide regular feedback to parents regarding their child's class performance and progression.
  • Attend to student and parent inquiries, addressing concerns and providing helpful guidance.
  • Recommend suitable programs and classes based on student interests and skill levels.

Studio Operations:

  • Handle cashiering duties for payment processing and transactions.
  • Manage the scheduling of classes and workshops, ensuring efficient time management.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, including recordkeeping, correspondence, and inventory management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio environment, ensuring a safe and inspiring workspace for students.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience teaching art to students of various ages, ideally in a studio setting.
  • Strong knowledge of art history, theory, and techniques, with a passion for sharing that knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with students and parents.
  • Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks and managing schedules effectively.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine love for art and a desire to inspire creativity in others.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with a specific art medium or style (e.g., painting, drawing, ceramics, digital art).
  • Knowledge of art business practices, including marketing, pricing, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning, communication, and administrative tasks.
