Position Summary:
The Speech Therapy Intern will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Therapist (SLT) to support the provision of speech and language services for students with communication needs. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment, assisting with the evaluation, planning, and implementation of therapy sessions for students across a range of ages and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe and assist in conducting speech and language screenings, assessments, and therapy sessions.
- Support individual and small group intervention activities under direct supervision.
- Help prepare therapy materials, visual aids, and communication tools for student sessions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student progress and session notes.
- Assist with implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under the direction of the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, learning support staff, and other educational professionals to support student communication goals.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and parent conferences as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with school policies and professional ethics in all aspects of student care.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Speech-Language Therapy Degree program (Bachelor’s or Master’s level).
- Eligible for clinical placement or internship through academic institution.
- Passionate about working with children and supporting inclusive education.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, professional, and eager to learn in a school environment.
