The Ice Cream & Cookie Co – Quality Control Intern

The Ice Cream & Cookie Co. is a Singapore based ice cream company. We started serving our homemade creations at farmers’ markets around Singapore, and have grown organically to be Singapore’s leading independent ice cream brand. 

Role: This is a role reporting to QA Manager on areas of product quality, ISO 2200 matters and ensuring food safety compliance. This includes in line checking of production procedures, and sensory evaluation and tasting of ice cream products. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm.

Job Description:

• Ensure all food production processes to meet food safety compliance
• Responsible for quality control, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety
• Assisting QA Department with creation, implementation, monitoring and updating the Standard Operating Procedures for production relevant to food safety
• Ensure compliance with ISO 22000 and SFA requirements and standards at workplace
• Assisting QA and Production Departments with equipment preventive maintenance and periodic calibration as required
• Assisting with ISO and other food safety audits
• Maintain good record keeping for audits and certification renewal (e.g: halal certification, pressurised equipment certification)
• Ensure that production records, food safety documentations are accurately filled and filed
• Manage and work closely with pest controllers to ensure a pest free environment
• Ensure good housekeeping of production floor is maintained

Requirements:

• Interest in food, in particular ice cream
• Minimum qualification of a Diploma Food Science, Food Technology or relevant field
• Excellent organisational skills and a hands-on person
• Problem solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast changing environment
• Good communication skills
