Job Description for Server Engineer
Minimum Qualification
a) At least 3 years of experience in Microsoft server administration and operations
b) Related certification eg. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) eg. MCSA:2012, MCSA:2016, MCSE is preferred
c) Possessing some Linux and VMWare administration experience is desirable
d) Fluent and conversant in English communication
Roles & Responsiilities
a) User administration, including administration of user accounts
b) Manage and maintain systems utilities and scripts
c) System configuration management including modifying BIOS, systems settings, system registries, drive mappings
d) Manage batch jobs and scheduled tasks
e) Server patch management
f) Troubleshoot performance issues
g) System security administration such as:
i) Monitor and perform SSL/TLS certificate renewal for the systems in a timely manner before expiry
ii) Manage encryption/decryption keys for the servers;
h) Escalate hardware faults and software errors to the appointed Supplier or 3rd party vendors
i) Management of system logs
j) Backup and restore/recovery jobs
k) Review of alerts, system logs, event logs, error logs and security logs
l) Performance and fault management for monitoring server health eg. CPU, memory,
disk space utilisation and other relevant monitoring parameters
m) Server availability and performance related reporting
n) Document and maintain server administration guides and SOPs
