Job Description

Minimum Qualification

a) At least 3 years of hands-on experience in configuring switches/routers, firewalls and IDS/IPS

b) Proficient in following areas

i) Network topologies and protocols

ii) Network configuration

iii) Network utilization and performance monitoring

iv) Network fine tuning, incident troubleshooting, interpretation of statistics and traffic patterns

v) Firewall rules configuration and security settings

vi) IDS/IPS, CDN implementation and IPV6

c) Minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification

d) Experience in WAN implementation

e) Fluent and conversant in English communication

Roles and Responsibilities

a) Manage network equipment such as routers and switches, firewalls & Intrusion Protection/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), appliances for Network Access Control (NAC) and other network appliances

b) Daily checks of the logs and network links to ensure no abnormal activity

c) Install, maintain and upgrade all network hardware, firmware and software used

d) Apply software and security patches following the patch management

requirements

e) Fine-tune network or system parameters

f) Create, delete or modify access rights for the network equipment related user accounts in terms of authentication, authorisation and accounting

g) Manage IP addresses and IP assignment scheme, including for EUCDs

h) Manage firewall rules, settings and security configurations e.g. add, delete or modify firewall rules, change encryption keys

i) Perform troubleshooting to resolve network issues

j) Manage network related incidents

k) NAC administration for security posture checks, including:

i. Log review for failed authentications

ii. Verify NAC service is enabled and policies are active

iii. Housekeep local users and static hosts list

iv. Update posture policies for endpoint protection and Windows patches

v. Perform NAC software updates and patching

vi. Verify validity of certificates, trust lists and update status of Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs)

vii. Generation and evaluation of authentication and posture reports

l) Perform routine backup of network configuration for network equipment, inclusive of firewall rules

m) Document and maintain configurations of all network hardware, software and cabling information used in the environment

n) Analyse network utilisation patterns, trends and problems, recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures

o) Review network audit trails and security violation attempts on the network

p) Advice impact if any and propose solutions on known security threats and violations

q) Coordinate 2nd and 3rd level troubleshooting for root cause analysis (RCA) for customer network equipment

r) Other network maintenance and configuration to ensure up to date

s) Implementandmaintainnetworkmonitoringparametersandtoolsforreporting

t) Document and maintain network administration guides and SOPs
