TaFF – Fashion Analyst (Intern)

Overview of the Fashion Analytics Internship
This internship will be with Textile and Fashion Federation’s Design Resource Development department,
and supervised by the Director of Design Resource Development. The responsibility of a data analyst
working in fashion is to utilize all digital information collected to help retail and fashion companies
become more profitable by predicting trends and consumer behaviour. Fashion analysts need to be
keenly aware of buying habits, trends, pop culture and the seasons, and study why and how people buy
clothes, accessories, and household items based on their culture, mood, beliefs, and their location
around the globe. Qualitative observation is then combined with charts, graphs, and computer programs
to produce easily-digestible content for companies to use.

Responsibilities:
• Regularly review and comb through physical and digital information platforms in the industry to
extract relevant insights and trends
• Compare, contrast, and summarize said insights to produce content articles for the association to
publish/distribute
• Submit articles/write-ups to the marketing department for publication on a predetermined time
schedule set out by directors
• To assist and support relevant events at TaFF

Intern Tasks and Deliverables:
• Curate and produce articles/analyses/reports for the association’s various departments
• To work with director of department to pinpoint relevant or interesting content/articles for
publication or sharing in the association
• File, archive, and keep updated all relevant references and written content made by department
• Assist in the preparation of documents, emails, presentations as necessary
