Surer – Frontend Engineer (Web) Internship

And as a Frontend Engineering Intern, you get to be a part of the revolution! Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented and self-driven Frontend Web Engineer who learns fast and has the nous to think out-of-the-box - to make a big difference for the Insurance industry and empower the parties within this ecosystem. 

Your day to day task will be focused on working directly with the founding team and be on the leading front to develop new features, suggest better processes, re-engineering and testing of functionalities.

In summary, you will:

• Work to design an eye-catching and responsive user interface, make the user experience on our platform simple and seamless and implement the background functionality in the most cost-effective and memory-friendly way.

• Ship new and impactful features by building beautiful and intuitive interfaces for our users.

• Help the team design user flows and iterate the product based on feedback from our customer-facing teams.

• Fine-tune frontend code for better performance and implementing best practices

• Work with our UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

• Ensure that all user input is validated before submitting to backend

• Work with backend developers for continuous development and deployment

Experience and Skill Sets

Must have:

• Experience with React.js

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience with backend development is a plus

• Experienced in web technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript

• Familiar with ReactJs and/or VUE Javascript Frontend Frameworks

• Understands the concept of web development such as HTTP, HTTPS protocols, backend code integration with frontend code via RESTful APIs

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of PHP

• Git workflows

• CI/CD practices

• Currently studying for a Diploma / Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent

• Familiar with frameworks such as jQuery, Bootstrap and AngularJS

• UI/UX design exposure and experience in making web applications work intuitively

• Able to work independently as well as in a team

• Able to multitask in a demanding, fast paced environment and work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
