Job Description

Role Overview

As a Preschool Educator,, you play a key role in nurturing and educating children in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. You will plan and deliver age-appropriate programs, foster social and emotional development, and ensure the well-being of every child.

You will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and volunteers, tailoring support to each child’s needs, while striving for excellence and sincerity in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and Deliver Holistic Educational Programs

  • Design and implement structured, age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and moral development.

  • Utilize creative and interactive teaching methods to engage children effectively and cater to diverse learning needs.

Foster Social and Emotional Development

  • Guide children in building positive relationships, expressing emotions constructively, and developing empathy and resilience.

  • Reinforce good behavior through consistent guidance, encouragement, and recognition.

Ensure Safety, Health, and Well-being

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment in accordance with MTFA standards.

  • Monitor children closely to prevent accidents or injuries and respond promptly to any incidents.

  • Support physical well-being through hygiene routines, active play, and healthy meals.

Observe, Assess, and Document Development

  • Conduct regular observations to track children’s growth, learning progress, and behavioral patterns.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports, providing constructive feedback to parents and caregivers.

  • Identify areas requiring additional support and implement tailored strategies for each child.

Collaborate with Parents, Caregivers, and Colleagues

  • Communicate effectively with parents on children’s development, needs, and achievements.

  • Work collaboratively with childcare staff, therapists, and volunteers to coordinate learning activities and care strategies.

  • Contribute insights and suggestions in team meetings to enhance program quality and effectiveness.

Professional Development and Compliance

  • Stay updated on best practices in childcare, education methods, and regulatory requirements.

  • Attend required training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised Early Childhood Education qualification (EY2 / L1 / L2) and/or relevant diploma or degree.

  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred.

  • Experience in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning activities is an advantage.

  • Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to foster holistic child development—social, emotional, cognitive, and moral.

  • Team player with collaborative mindset; able to work with parents, caregivers, colleagues, and volunteers.

  • Empathetic, ethical, and professional in all interactions.

  • Resilient and adaptable in navigating challenges.

Work Arrangement:

  • Part-time working arrangements (30 hours per week)
