Starter Lab Singapore is a neighbourhood bakery and 40-seater cafe specialising in wholesome, naturally-leavened breads and pastries, as well as a thoughtful selection of toasts and sandwiches that celebrate the bread.
Launched in August 2019 with a desire to share their love for sourdough and to break bread with the wider community, Starter Lab Singapore is a collaboration between consultant baker and Tartine alumnus Emerson Manibo and owner Min Siah. Since its humble beginnings in Bali in 2017, the lab has been constantly experimenting and challenging traditional perceptions of bread. It pays homage to the process behind naturally leavened breads, working with wild yeast and long fermentations, as well as a commitment to always innovating and achieving a complexity of flavour.
In an open and welcoming environment with a glass-enclosed baking lab, guests are invited to observe and discover the romance behind the entire hand-crafted, bread baking-fermentation process from start to finish. The team proudly share their craft with bread lovers, bringing to each guest fresh bakes, sparking curiosity and fuelling bread conversations.

Must be a reliable team player, ready to learn and to work with good energy and efficiency.
You'll be required to maintain optimal brewing methods, oversee daily coffee bar operations, manage inventory, assist with cashiering and serving pastries/breads, and prepare and create a selection of coffee and drink offerings.
Full-time or part-time position available. 4 days/week, $10/hour part-time; can negotiate a full-time role as well.
