Starlight is a marketing and distribution company in Singapore.   Starlight aims to be a preferred boutique distributor of prestige cosmetics and known for its integrity and talented team.   Our professional philosophy is to ‘Deliver what we promise’ and we have intentionally elected to represent only a select  number of brands to ensure that proper attention is given to build and develop the brands we represent.

Track Record

Starlight’s first distributorship was Benefit Cosmetics for 3 countries:  Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and had successfully launched and established a solid platform for the brand during the 6 years that the distributorship was under our company, until the contract expired in December 2012 and the brand reverted back to the principal.   Our company had won many media awards for Benefit’s products through our marketing efforts and Benefit was voted  the Best New Brand launch in 2008 by C K Tangs, then the #1 department store for cosmetics in Singapore.    Referral on our company’s performance and track record can be obtained from our trade partners/retailers.

Starlight was appointed exclusive distributor for Laura Mercier in Singapore since January 2012 and the contract expired in Dec 2017, due to the brand’s acquisition by Shisedo Corp. We opened counters in 11 Sephora stores, and in 4 departmental stores: Tangs Orchard, Takashimaya, Robinsons Heeren and Robinsons Raffles City.  Through active PR engagement and digital presence, Laura Mercier was awarded the “Best New makeup brand” by Elle in 2013, and LM products have won numerous media awards in Singapore in the past five years and established the brand’s leadership in the Foundation and Face products categories. 

Starlight has recently been awarded exclusive distributorship for the following new-to-market brands:

111SKIN from UK since Jan 2018

Jurlique from Australia since 1 August 2018.

Patchology from US since Sept 2018

Bottega Verde from Tuscany since Sept 2019

111SKIN debuted at Robinsons Heeren on 8th January 2018 with its first counter concept, followed with the opening of an exclusive 111SKIN Facial Suite in April 2018. With the closure of Robinsons Heeren in Dec 2020, 111SKIN has since relocated its counter and facial suite to Metro Paragon.

Jurlique has 2 stand-alone boutiques in key malls and 1 flagship counter in Takashimaya Department Store with plans for robust expansion in the coming years. The launch of jurlique.com.sg website is slated for October 2021 to enhance our digital presence in addition to our strong presence in e-commerce platforms ie Lazada, Zalora & Shopee

Bottega Verde is exclusively available at BHG Bugis, and in online e-commerce platforms ie Lazada & Shopee.

Under the direction of the Finance Executive/ Brand Manager, the Sales Operations Assistant will provide general support to the Sales and Finance Dept. He or she will work in conjunction with the sales and warehouse teams to improve the efficiencies of the operational structure. The Sales Operations Assistant will provide support for sales and operational projects.

1/ Sales Order Processing

~ Propose and submit for BM’s approval recommended stock replenishments

~ Submit sell-in and PO requests to stores and follow up to ensure receipt of POs and price tags/labels.

~ Process purchase orders and requisitions to stores

~ Highlight to manager instances of non-fulfilment, partial fulfilment or late deliveries

~ Manage deliveries and timelines to control delivery charges in accordance to budget.

2/ Replenishment and order of products from country of origin

~ Gin in incoming shipment

~ Update and distribute inventory file for sales and marketing usage

3/ Warehouse Management:

~ Manage relationship with Bollore to ensure smooth processing and delivery of monthly orders.

~ Troubleshoot inefficiencies in ordering processes and propose resolution.

~ Arrange monthly Bollore visits for inventory checks and status reviews.

4/ E-Com Support

~ Assist with the implementation of e-com marketing programs

5/ HSA

~ Accountable for all HSA/regulatory-related matters

6/ Admin Support

~ Assist with Office Admin matters

Key Performance Indicators

~ Ensure reporting accuracy

~ Provide strong support to teams (ensure timeliness and accuracy of work)

~ Develop strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

The above job description is designed to give an overview of the tasks and responsibilities for this position. The sales department will however evolve and grow over time to meet practice and market demands. You will be expected to embrace such changes and rise to the challenge of developing their skills over time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate with at least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field will be advantageous
  • Computer literacy is a must with good skills in MS Office application, especially Excel, Words, Powerpoint
  • A team player and good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, attention to details, organized, independent and have good sense of numbers.
  • Hardworking, ability to multi­task and be able to work under pressure with flexibility.
  • Good command of Chinese and English, both conversational and written (to liaise with associates).
