Visual Journalist Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a Visual Journalist Intern who enjoys storytelling through visuals and has a strong interest in reaching young audiences. You will work on illustrations, event visuals, layouts and digital content for Chinese-language media and school engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Create illustrations, graphics and visual assets for stories and projects
• Develop engaging visuals for social media and digital platforms
• Support layout and design for publications and other media materials
• Create event visuals and content for school engagement activities
• Explore creative ways to tell stories through illustrations, photography, graphics and visual storytelling
• Work with journalists to develop visual concepts that appeal to younger audiences

Requirements

• Students pursuing Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Illustration, Media or related disciplines
• Strong interest in visual storytelling and youth culture
• Creative with a good eye for design and visual composition
• Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or equivalent
• Comfortable experimenting with different visual formats and social media content
• Portfolio of creative work is preferred
