Intern Journalist
JD: Intern journalists will work with senior journalists before being deployed to cover and write stories across various beats - from education to social to sports - to provide a holistic experience.
Requirements: A fairly good command of the Malay language with an interest in current affairs, social issues, and trends. Interns must possess a positive attitude, and a keen interest to deepen knowledge and skills in journalism.
Learning outcome: The intern will undergo a training program on fundamentals of news and news writing conducted by the Deputy News Ed and Senior Writers. The intern will also be provided with a digital housestyle guide.
Working hours: Mon to Fri, office hours
Intern Social Media Producer
JD: Work alongside the Social Media Producer in creating content across Berita Harian social media platforms, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter, to build an audience and ensure engagement. You will also be required to monitor site metrics, respond to reader comments, and implement creative design.
Requirements: (a) Deep knowledge of TikTok and Instagram (b) Basic videography and editing skills (c) Effectively bilingual, (d) good command of written Malay - Curious, with interest in current affairs.
Learning outcome: Intern social media producers will learn vital insights into how MSM leverages on social media for reach and engagement. He or she will also be exposed to a high demand, fast paced environment to push out stories and content quickly, accurately and creatively on social media platforms.
Working hours: Mon to Fri, office hours
Intern Podcast Producer and/or Presenter
JD: As an intern Podcast Producer, you will be working with a dedicated team to strategize, plan, and execute marketing efforts to grow the audience, awareness for the podcast channel. Responsibility for role: • Support the podcast host and team • Manage the podcast production schedule and development • Record and produce podcast episodes • Research, contact and schedule guests to join the podcast • Prep the host and guest before a podcast recording • Prepare questions before an interview • Guide guests on talking points throughout the recording • Manage each episode's editing, recording and distribution • Handle administrative work as needed
Requirements: (a) Understanding of what a podcast would entail (b) The ability to collaborate and work with diverse stakeholders. (c) Capable of working in a fast-paced environment. (d) A solutions-oriented mindset. (e) Enthusiasm for learning and growing.
Learning outcome: Be exposed to the highly dynamic world of podcast production. Working with the senior producers and presenters, the intern producer will also get an insights into how audio story telling are curated to produce a successful podcast.

Intern Photojournalist
JD: Work alongside senior photographer to learn the ropes, before being deployed for photo assignments of different topics/beats.
Requirements: Basic photography skills, a willingness to learn and ready to word hard.
Learning outcome: The intern will develop a keener eye for news, and the exposure to a high paced, dynamic work environment will make them better photographers.

Audience & Growth Intern
JD: The intern will assist to develop and implement strategies to expand the reach and engagement of Berita Harian. The role involves understanding the target audience, identifying opportunities for growth, and executing plans to achieve business objectives. The intern will also be involved in shaping and curating content across digital platforms, including the website, mobile app and social media channels.
Requirements: Basic business and/or media management skills/knowledge
Learning outcome: Audience & Growth Intern will learn how MSM engages its audience to grow reach, working closely with the editorial team especially in the area of Young Audience engagement.
