Job Description

Project Application Engineer Internship (6 Months)


The internship program provides an excellent opportunity for students currently finishing their college degree programs to gain valuable on-the job experience working in a real development environment. The Associate Project Applications Engineer (PAE) assists in the direction of the Company’s internal activities associated with supporting the sale of new turbomachinery packages for the Oil and Gas market.  The position involves working with Senior Applications Engineers, Field Sales and a wide cross section of other departments to plan, develop, and execute technical and commercial strategies to successfully compete for new equipment business.  Specific responsibilities include assisting with the review of customer specifications, selection and optimization of Solar’s turbomachinery equipment offering, pricing custom features, proposal preparation and turning the job over to Business Management with good technical and commercial definition so that it can be executed efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to interact with multiple people across an organization
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Works effectively within a collaborative and cooperative team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically Excel)
Coursework in Turbomachinery and Oil and Gas Applications
