The Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) is a not-for-profit professional training and education body set up in 1974, as part of Singapore’s efforts to develop as a financial hub.
Since 2009, the SCI has also expanded its role to include talent development programmes, such as the Insurance Executive Scholarship Programme (IESP) and the Insurance Management Associate Programme (iMAP) that have succeeded in attracting and placing numerous fresh tertiary talent into the varied functions in the industry.
What is the iMAP?
The Insurance Management Associate Programme (iMAP) is the flagship talent development designed and initiated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) to attract and develop young talent for Specialist & Leadership roles in this industry. Launched in 2009, it is a structured 2-year fast track talent programme that offers professional accreditation and certifications, on-the-job training linked to cross-functional rotations, mentorship, international exposure, and special activities. In addition to putting what you have learnt into practice, iMAP also provides a structured post-programme career development with a view to leadership.
As an iMAP candidate, you would enjoy/be exposed to:
• Full sponsorship of internationally recognised professional qualifications awarded by The Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) and The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK (more details below)
• Cross-functional rotations across General and Specialised Insurance Broking, Trade, Claims, and Business Development.

• Support from the company on your lecture and examination schedule

*Please note that this programme is not for roles in the Life Insurance sector (Financial Consultant/Insurance Agent). Applicants in search for roles in the Life Insurance sector need not apply.
Successful candidates will hired by their own respective companies and be bonded with them during the course of their studies and employment period. During lecture days, you will spend your time at SCI acquiring core technical skills and knowledge that will earn you professional designation - the ACII, awarded by The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in the United Kingdom. In addition, you will also earn the Certificate SCI (General Insurance), Certificate SCI (Reinsurance), Diploma SCI (General Insurance & Risk Management) and Advanced Diploma SCI (General Insurance & Risk Management). As a Diploma and Advanced Diploma SCI (General Insurance & Risk Management) holder, you are also eligible to apply for Associate CIP and Senior Associate CIP membership of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) respectively.
During non-lectures days, you will spend your time at your companies (Sponsoring Institutions) to acquire on-the-job experience in the various functional areas that will perfectly complement the academic component and develop you for future roles in your companies.
Relevant Requirements, Skills and Abilities
• Singaporean/Singapore PR
• Bachelors Degree (Honours)
• Fresh Graduates OR Graduates with not more than 1 year working experience
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, agile mindset and “can-do” attitude.
• Confident and outgoing personality, able to deal directly with the senior people
• Desire and passion to develop a career in the Insurance or Reinsurance industry
